Robert Struthers<\/strong>, born at High Glenmuir Farm, Auchinleck, Ayrshire on 14 November 1899, son of Gavin Struthers and Isabella Morrison Craig<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n

Robert is at High Glenmuir on the 1901 Census and at South Halls Farm, Avondale, Lanarkshire on the 1911 Census.<\/p>\n\n\n

Helen Strang Semple<\/strong>, born at High Whitehills Farm, East Kilbride, Lanarkshire on 15 October 1907, daughter of Matthew Semple and Margaret Johnston<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n

Helen is at High Whitehills on the 1911 Census.<\/p>\n\n\n

Robert and Helen were married at East Law Farm, Carluke, Lanarkshire on 7 June 1934.<\/p>\n\n\n

Officiated by W. Anderson, Minister of South Law Parish Church.<\/p>\n

Witnessed by William Lindsay of Blackbyres Farm, Fenwick, Ayrshire, and Agnes Dickie Semple. William would marry Robert’s sister Annie later that year. Agnes is Helen’s younger sister.<\/p>\n\n\n

Robert and Helen lived at South Halls Farm until Robert’s retirement. They then lived at ‘Cairnlaw’, 91 Kirk Street, Strathaven, Lanarkshire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his later years Robert, now widowed, lived at Harelaw Farm, Fenwick, Ayrshire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
