Robert Weir<\/strong>, born at Blackfauld, Old Cumnock, Ayrshire on 12 June 1773, son of James Weir and Jean Mitchell<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Margaret McKinlay<\/strong>, born c.1774. Margaret’s place of birth and parent’s names are unknown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Robert and Margaret were proclaimed for marriage in the parish of Old Cumnock, Ayrshire on 4 September 1798.<\/p>\n\n\n

Robert is in Auchengibbert, Old Cumnock and Margaret is in Duncanziemere in Auchinleck parish.<\/p>\n\n\n

Robert, now widowed, is at Bridgend Farm, Auchinleck, Ayrshire on the 1851 Census.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CHILDREN<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

James Weir<\/strong>, born in Auchinleck, Ayrshire c.1797.<\/p>\n\n\n

James married Jemima Ferguson in Auchinleck on 25 April 1824.<\/p>\n

Jemima died on 9 January 1829.<\/p>\n

James married again, to Jane Dickie<\/a> (b. Galston, Ayrshire on 12 December 1806), daughter of Francis Dickie and Margaret Campbell<\/a>. They were proclaimed for marriage in the parish of Auchinleck on 1 December 1837.<\/p>\n

James and Jane are at Welltrees Farm, Auchinleck on the 1851 Census and at Blackside Farm, Sorn, Ayrshire on the 1861 and 1871 Census.<\/p>\n

James died at Blackside Farm on 15 March 1878, age 81.<\/p>\n

Jane is in Ynyscynhaiarn, Caernarvonshire on the 1881 Census.<\/p>\n

Jane died at Blackside Farm on 10 March 1886, age 79.<\/p>\n\n\n

Marion Weir<\/strong>, born in Auchinleck, Ayrshire on 30 May 1801.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Margaret Weir<\/strong>, born in Auchinleck, Ayrshire on 19 July 1808.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lillias Weir<\/strong>, born in Auchinleck, Ayrshire on 19 July 1808.<\/p>\n\n\n

Lillias is at Millerston Farm, Stair, Ayrshire on the 1881 and 1891 Census.<\/p>\n

Lillias died at Millerston Farm on 7 November 1891, age 83.<\/p>\n\n\n

Anne Weir<\/strong>, born in Auchinleck, Ayrshire on 18 July 1812.<\/p>\n\n\n

Anne married William Gibson (b. Muirkirk, Ayrshire c.1808), Limestone Quarrier. They were proclaimed for marriage in the parish of Auchinleck on 13 August 1831.<\/p>\n

Anne and William are at Glenmuir Quarry, Auchinleck on the 1851 Census.<\/p>\n

William died on 24 November 1852, age 44.<\/p>\n

Anne died on 29 November 1852, age 40.<\/p>\n\n\n

Dallas Weir<\/strong>, born in Auchinleck c.1814<\/p>\n\n\n

The only record for Dallas is in the 1851 Census where she is recorded as daughter and housekeeper of her father at Bridgend Farm.<\/p>\n\n\n

Agnes Weir<\/strong>, born in Auchinleck, Ayrshire on 10 December 1815.<\/p>\n\n\n

Agnes married Thomas Gibson (b. Muirkirk, Ayrshire c.1814), son of James Gibson and Agnes Pearson, at Sunnyside Farm on 20 December 1844.<\/p>\n

Agnes and Thomas are at Bridgend Farm, Auchinleck on the 1851 and 1861 Census and at Millerston Farm, Stair, Ayrshire on the 1871 and 1881 Census.<\/p>\n

Agnes died at Millerston Farm on 28 October 1887, age 72.<\/p>\n

Thomas died at Millerston Farm on 14 December 1894, age 81.<\/p>\n\n\n

DEATHS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Margaret died on 21 April 1817, age 43.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Robert died on 13 September 1854, age 81.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This information comes from the inscription on a monument in Old Cumnock Cemetery:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

James Weir.
To the memory of his mother Margaret McKinlay who died 21st April 1817 aged 43 years.
And of his father Robert Weir, late Farmer in Sunnyside who died 13th September 1854 aged
