Jean Anderson<\/strong>, daughter of Gilbert Anderson and Jean Blackwood<\/a>, born at Townhead of Greenock Farm, Muirkirk, Ayrshire on 25 June 1804.2<\/a><\/sup>National Records of Scotland, OPR Births, 1804 607 20\/79<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jean and Thomas are at West Dykehead Farm, Avondale on the 186113<\/a><\/sup>National Records of Scotland, 1861 Census, 621 3\/10<\/span> and 187114<\/a><\/sup>National Records of Scotland, 1871 Census, 621 3\/9<\/span> Census.<\/p>\n

On the 1881 Census, Jean is at West Dykehead Farm15<\/a><\/sup>National Records of Scotland, 1881 Census, 621 3\/9<\/span> and Thomas is at Ryeland Farm, Avondale.16<\/a><\/sup>National Records of Scotland, 1881 Census, 621 5\/6<\/span><\/p>\n

Elizabeth is with her parents at Bankend Farm on the 1841, 1851, 1861 and 1871 Census. She is with her mother in Kirk Street, Strathaven on the 1881 Census.<\/p>\n

Elizabeth married James Somerville, Joiner (b. Wiston and Roberton, Lanarkshire on 23 October 1825),\u00a0son of William Somerville and Margaret Waugh,22<\/a><\/sup>National Records of Scotland, OPR Births, 1825 660 20\/14<\/span> at Kirk Street on 22 December 1885.23<\/a><\/sup>National Records of Scotland, 1885 Marriages, 621 33<\/span><\/p>\n

Elizabeth and James are in Kirk Street on the 189124<\/a><\/sup>National Records of Scotland, 1891 Census, 621 9\/14<\/span> and 190125<\/a><\/sup>National Records of Scotland, 1901 Census, 621 10\/10<\/span> Census, latterly at number 26.<\/p>\n

Alexander Craig<\/strong>, born at Bankend Farm on 12 July 1836.28<\/a><\/sup>National Records of Scotland, OPR Births, 1836 621 40\/102<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n

Alexander lived at Bankend Farm nearly all his life; he is living there on every census from 1841 through to 1911.<\/p>\n

Alexander married Jane Fleming<\/a> (b. Avondale, Lanarkshire on 5 March 1850), daughter of William Fleming and Isabella Morrison<\/a>,29<\/a><\/sup>National Records of Scotland, OPR Births, 1850 621 40\/184<\/span> at Templeland Farm, Avondale on 30 June 1875.30<\/a><\/sup>National Records of Scotland, 1875 Marriages, 621 20<\/span><\/p>\n

Jane died at Bankend Farm on 30 July 1908, age 58.31<\/a><\/sup>National Records of Scotland, 1908 Deaths, 621 37<\/span><\/p>\n

Alexander died at his retirement home, “Craigmains”, 59 Lethame Road, Strathaven on 9 May 1930, age 93.32<\/a><\/sup>National Records of Scotland, 1930 Deaths, 621 38<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n

Gilbert Craig<\/strong>, born at Bankend Farm on 19 May 1838.33<\/a><\/sup>National Records of Scotland, OPR Births, 1838 621 40\/113<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n

Gilbert died on 5 January 1839. The entry in the Old Parish Register gives his name as ‘Gabreal’.34<\/a><\/sup>National Records of Scotland, OPR Deaths and Burials, 1839 621 40\/415<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n

James Craig<\/strong>, born at Bankend Farm on 4 April 1840.35<\/a><\/sup>National Records of Scotland, OPR Births, 1840 621 40\/124<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n

James is with his parents on the 1841 Census, but not any later than that. He may have died in infancy.<\/p>\n\n\n

Gilbert Craig<\/strong>, born at Bankend Farm on 4 December 1841.36<\/a><\/sup>National Records of Scotland, OPR Births, 1841 621 40\/134<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n

Gilbert died on 21 March 1844. As with the previous Gilbert, the name in the Old Parish Register is given as ‘Gabriel’.37<\/a><\/sup>National Records of Scotland, OPR Deaths and Burials, 1844 621 40\/445<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n

Mary Craig<\/strong>, born at Bankend Farm on 23 April 1843.38<\/a><\/sup>National Records of Scotland, OPR Births, 1843 621 40\/142<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n

Mary is with her parents at Bankend Farm on the 1851 and 1861 Census.<\/p>\n

She is at 31 Kirk Street on the 1901 Census with her sister Janet.40<\/a><\/sup>National Records of Scotland, 1901 Census, 621 10\/5<\/span><\/p>\n

Mary died at North Halls Farm, Avondale on 7 July 1936, age 93. Her usual address is given as 63 Kirk Street, Strathaven.41<\/a><\/sup>National Records of Scotland, 1936 Deaths, 621 40<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n

Janet Craig<\/strong>, born at Bankend Farm on 16 July 1844.42<\/a><\/sup>National Records of Scotland, OPR Births, 1844, 621 40\/150<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n

Janet is with her parents at Bankend Farm on the 1851 and 1861 Census.<\/p>\n

On the 1881 Census she is at High Ploughland Farm, Avondale.<\/p>\n

She is with her sister Mary at 31 Kirk Street on the 1901 Census.<\/p>\n

Margaret married John Craig of Ploughland Farm, Avondale (b.
