A Thomas Morris was born to Arthur Morris, ‘Coalhewer in Berrielaw’ and Christian Snadan on 26 February 1786. This ties in with the children named Arthur and Christian.

Aminta Burt, born in Dunfermline, Fife on 27 April 1787, daughter of John Burt and Aminta Wright.

Thomas and Aminta were proclaimed for marriage in the parish of Dunfermline on 23 May 1806.

Aminta married Edward Henderson (b. Dunfermline, Fife on 3 February 1807), son of Thomas Henderson and Elisabeth Gibson. They were proclaimed for marriage in the parish of Dunfermline on 31 August 1839.

Aminta and Edward are in Parkneuk on the 1841 Census, in Milesmark on the 1851 and 1861 Census, at 2 Carnock Road, Inverkeithing, Fife on the 1871 Census and at Rose Cottage, Inverkeithing on the 1881 Census. Edward is a Coal Miner.

Aminta died in Dunfermline in 1885, age 77.

Jean Morris, born in Dunfermline, Fife on 9 June 1812.

Christian Morris, born in Dunfermline, Fife c.1813.

Christian’s presence here is a bit of a mystery; unlike her, all her siblings have their births registered, also, it would be very difficult to have three children born in a 26 month period. It is possible she was born around 1811, which fits the gap between her sisters Aminta and Jean.

Christian also ages 13 years between the 1851 and 1861 Census.

Christian died in Dunfermline in 1895.

Margaret Morris, born in Dunfermline, Fife on 7 August 1814.

Margaret is in Parkneuk, Dunfermline on the 1841 Census and in Rumblingwell, Dunfermline on the 1851 Census. In 1851 her occupation is Coal Pit Labourer.

Margaret married William Paterson (b. Dunfermliune, Fife c.1819). They were proclaimed for marriage in the parish of Carnock, Fife on 3 July 1854.

Margaret and William are in Baldridgeburn, Dunfermline on the 1861 Census. William is a Coal Miner.

John married Sarah McLeod (b. Sutherland c.1821), daughter of Thomas McLeod and Lily Melville. They were proclaimed for marriage in the parish of Dunfermline on 16 August 1845. John was a Coal Miner in Elgin Colliery.

John and Sarah are at 42 Brick Row, Forth Iron Works, Carnock, Fife on the 1851 Census and in Rumblingwell, Dunfermline on the 1861 Census.

Sarah died in Dunfermline in 1868, age 48.

John is in Rumblingwell on the 1871 Census and in Dunfermline on the 1881 Census.

James married Ann McLeod. They were proclaimed for marriage in the parish of Dunfermline on 6 December 1845.

James married again, to Marion Addie (b. Dunfermline, Fife c.1833), daughter of Thomas Addie and Marion Niven. They were proclaimed for marriage in the parish of Dunfermline on 29 April 1850.

Rachel married John Jamieson (b. Largs, Ayrshire c.1837), son of John and Mary Jamieson. They were married in Dunfermline on 30 November 1860.

Rachel and John are at 95 Marshall Street, Wishaw, Lanarkshire on the 1881 Census. John is a Labourer, but at one time was a Coal Miner and suffered disability due to Inflammation of the Lungs; he had applied for Poor Relief in 1876.

John died in Cambusnethan in 1887, age 50.

Rachel is at 95 Marshall Street on the 1891 and 1901 Census.

Rachel also applied for Poor Relief, in 1893.

Rachel died in Cambusnethan in 1926, age 96.

DEATHS

Thomas presumably died before 1841 as he does not appear on the 1841 Census.

Aminta died in Parkneuk, Dunfermline on 17 July 1862, age 75.
